How to add a new Sender Email Address in Phish Focus?
- Contact Support and provide the preferred Sender Email to be added in Phish Focus
- In your request, include the sending domain and sub-domain which will be used as the MAIL FROM return path for any mail bounces. By default, Phriendly Phishing uses secops as the subdomain.
- Once email is added, an Amazon email asking you to verify the email address for use in Amazon SES and Amazon Pinpoint in region Asia Pacific (Sydney) is sent.
- Email has been successfully verified if you do not see an exclamation point beside the email address
What are the required steps to successfully send from the new sender email via Phish Focus?
- Support provides the Admin a TXT/CNAME records that needs to be added in your DNS Configuration to allow mail to properly authenticate. Note: Recognition of these DNS records might take a few days to propagate.
- If not provided at first instance, Phriendly Phishing Admin should include in the request the sending domain and sub-domain which will be used as the MAIL FROM return path for any mail bounces. By default, Phriendly Phishing uses secops as the subdomain, but can be changed dependent on preference (please inform Support). Note: Any bounces will be send to this subdomain. There is no need to explicitly set up a mailbox for the bounces as it will end up in the your mail service under the defined subdomain.
- Once configured from your end, Support can then check from the SES side if you will be able to send authenticated mail from Phish Focus.
