User Guide : O365 Phish Reporter (Ribbon Version)

This guide takes you through the user experience when reporting an email or how to report a suspicious email using the O365 Phish Reporter (Ribbon version). 

  Important Reminders

  1. The Ribbon version replaces the Microsoft's spam reporter located at the left side of the screen.
  2. You will see 2 Phish Reporter buttons (left and right side), and using either buttons to report an email should work. ribbon.png

Report an email via OWA or Web Version of Outlook

  1. Access Outlook from any browser.
  2. To report highlight the email in the preview pane and click the Phish Reporter Ribbon at the top left of your screen. Ribbon1.png
  3. Below pop-up message will appear, click Report.

  4. Once reported, notification like below will appear. The custom message depends on the reported email (e.g. Phriendly Phishing Training Email, Phriendly Phishing Simulation Email, Suspicious Email)
  5. Click Ok. The reported email is then moved to your Deleted folder.
  6. If reporting an email for the first time using this version, you will be asked to log in with your Microsoft credentials . 

Report an email via Outlook Desktop application (Outlook Classic and New version)

  1. Find the Phish Reporter ribbon at the top of your screen or under Apps when highlighting the email to report.
  2. To report an email, either highlight the email in the preview pane or double click to open it as a new window. Click on the Phish Reporter ribbon and Report. 
  3. Once reported, notification like below will appear. The custom message depends on the reported email (e.g. Phriendly Phishing Training Email, Phriendly Phishing Simulation Email, Suspicious Email)                               
  4. Click Ok. The reported email is then moved to your Deleted folder.
  5. If reporting an email for the first time using this version, you will be asked to log into with your Microsoft credentials . 

          

Report an email via Outlook mobile device (Android or iOS):

iOS Devices

  1. Click on the email.
  2. Click on the 3 dots, at the upper right side of your screen. A window will appear, scroll down to find the Phish Reporter icon. 
  3. Click OK to report.

Android Devices

  1. Click on the email
  2. Click on the 3 dots, upper right side of your screen. A window will appear, scroll down to find the Phish Reporter icon.
  3. Click OK to report.

  Congratulations! You have now successfully reported an email! Repeat this process for any other suspicious-looking emails.
