Phish Reporter : Settings, Configuration and Compatibility

The Phish Reporter allows your staff to easily report a phishing email. This feature offers a customisable user experience and branding options. 

  Important Notes

  1. The Phish reporter is available for learners to report from shared Inboxes in Windows environment.
  2. Release Notes for each version are documented in Phish Reporter Release Notes .

Phish Reporter Settings and Configuration

  1. Log in to you Phriendly Phishing account and click Phish Reporter tab on the left side of the screen.

  2. There are 4 tabs under Phish Reporter to check and configure. It is recommended to go through the settings and configure as preferred. PR1.png

    • The nominated email address(es) will receive an email when a user reports a non-Phriendly Phishing email using the Phish Reporter.
    • Use a comma to separate the emails if you are entering multiple addresses.

    • If checked, a copy of the reported email will also be sent to Phriendly Phishing SOC for analysis.
    • This analysis can be used to track trends or create new templates.
    • Reported Email is archived indefinitely.

    • If checked, a reported email that is on the Safe Domain list/Safe IP List/Safe Email List will not be deleted from the user's inbox. Email remains in the Inbox.

      There is a 600 character limit for custom messages. If the message is below the character limit however it is showing as a blank image, it could be there are reserved characters in the message. Contact Support to confirm.

    (This option only applies to the Desktop version.)

    • If checked, learners will be shown the Phish Report tutorial when they open outlook.
    • If User can configure is not enabled, it will prevent learners from being able to disable or enable this setting in their Outlook.

    • If checked, learners will be prompted with a confirmation message before reporting an email.
    • If User can configure is not enabled, it will prevent learners from being able to disable or enable this setting in their Outlook.

    • If checked, a pop-up confirmation message of the email reported (Simulated Phriendly Phishing, Other, Safe) will appear.
    • If User can configure is not enabled, it will prevent learners from being able to disable or enable this setting in their Outlook.

    • If checked this confirmation message will appear when a learner reports a Phriendly Phishing email (Simulation or Training).
    • Reported Training Email stays in the Inbox.
    • Reported Phishing Simulation email is moved from the Inbox to Deleted folder.
    • Images can be added instead of text. Specifications below:
      • Image needs to be in png or jpg format
      • Only 1 image per text field can be added
      • Current behaviour is to use an image editor and do a copy and paste (drag and drop from any image viewer won't work)

    • This confirmation message will appear when a learner reports an email that is deemed safe due to being on the Safe Domain List/Safe IP List/Safe Email List.
    • It will not generate a report to the nominated email address.
    • If "Keep Safe Emails in the Inbox" is checked, a reported email that is on the Safe Domain list/Safe IP List/Safe Email List remains in the user's Inbox.

    • If checked, this confirmation message will appear when a learner reports a non Phriendly Phishing email nor deemed a safe email.
    • Reported Non-Phriendly Phishing email is moved from the Inbox to Deleted folder and will generate an email to the nominated email address

      • Only 1 image per text field can be added
